Frequently asked questions.

What does working with you look like?

Our work together is flexible to fit your needs. For the most part our work will be conducted over phone and video depending on your preference. I will also offer email follow ups and bi-weekly newsletters. The amount of time we spend together is up to you, ranging from one hour a month to 1+ hours per week. If you live in my area I also am able to provide services while taking a nice walk, in your home, in a coffee shop or library, or wherever you would like to meet.

What will we do during an intake/how much information will you need?

It is always up to you how much or little you disclose to me. During an intake my goal is to better understand your goals for seeking services and to start to build a connection to see if we are well matched to provide you with the best services possible.

Do you have an office?

I do not at this time have an office. All of my services are designed to be conduct from anywhere (with the exception of some educational group facilitations) and I am happy to meet clients in my area at their homes or somewhere they feel comfortable.

How often will we talk?

That is up to you! Clients can see me a minimum of once per month up to multiple times a week if my schedule allows.

What if I need extra support?

You can increase the amount of support you receive at any time. I also work to refer to appropriate mental health services, peer groups and health care to fill in the gaps between our sessions. We will also work to identify other supports in your life to fill in this gap as well. If you are in a crisis situation I urge you to call relevant crisis services. If you have recently experienced a crisis or traumatic event and are in need of more frequent follow up by text or email, we can arrange something supportive for you.

What if I need to reschedule or I miss an appointment?

If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment I ask that I am given 48 hours notice and 24 hours notice for emergencies. If you do not give the agreed upon notice, you will be charged for the appointment. I understand that even 24 hours is not always enough for very urgent emergencies and am always willing to work with people case by case when these kinds of emergencies come up.

Can we meet in person?

If you live in my area I am able to provide services while taking a nice walk, in your home, in a coffee shop or library, or wherever you would like to meet. I do not charge extra for manageable travel at this time.

Do you do couples work?

I do not at this time offer couples services. My work is focused on uplifting individuals and is rooted in respect for individual autonomy, though much of the work we do together may be centered around communicating with or sharing experiences with your partner(s)!

How do I know my confidentiality will be protected?

I follow all HIPAA guidelines to protect the confidentiality of everyone I work with. Any files are kept under two locks (a locking door and cabinet) and no information will be shared with others without  written consent. I discuss with each person at intake the best way to contact them and whether or not they can receive voicemails or mail from me. I am open to answering any questions or concerns regarding confidentiality.

How old do you have to be to receive services?

I work with people of all ages. Individuals under the age of 18 will be required to get consent from their parent or guardian. After the initial consent, no further information about our work together will be shared with parents/guardians without consent of the minor.
